Hi Sovereign,
Happy holidays! We hope you are going to have a lovely break :) and come back ready to earn some points. Hopefully the results of recent competitions are enough to encourage you to take part more and help the house to win. The lure of the prize for the winning house should be an incentive to try and push for more e-refs and attendance.
Sovereign won in last years championships, as must be common knowledge by now. But our fame as a house is short-lived so far, so far we are last. If it wasn't for Dumbledore dishing out points right at the end, Gryffindor would not have won in Philosopher's Stone. However we don't have that luxury, the colour red does not make us a main character, we do that ourselves; the hard work we put in now determines whether you get to ditch school for a little bit in the name of victory. Get stuck in Sovereign!
It's not long now until your Captains leave school, and your Vice Captains take over! Our plan is to make sure we leave Sovereign on a high note - so lets really push to win that Champion title!

Sovereign are still in the lead but Paxton and Alba are just behind. To help us ensure the house championship is ours keep getting those erefs and take part in as many competitions as possible. We can win this.
Remember to check the Summer Term Events 2014 tab to keep track of events that you could get involved in! For example, Battle of the Bands is next month - your Captains will be there supporting everyone who takes part, so why not give it a go? Or even just show your support for your House-mates! Tickets will be available from the Dart, and you can find application forms there too.
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter! This term will bring plenty of opportunities to win house points for Sovereign, so keep your eyes and ears looking and listening for those notices in Tutor! Here are the results for the House Events before Easter, sorry for the delay!
Fantastic effort on both Events, particularly the Element Hunt! For that House Event alone, those of you who took part earned the house 470 points! Keep up the good work this term. Best of Luck to those of you who have exams!
We, your House and Vice Captains, hope you have had a great
break over Christmas and that you are ready to start 2014 feeling refreshed. Let’s
get motivated!
WE ARE CHAMPIONS!
Since the Summer we have made fantastic progress,
particularly with earning lots of E-Refs in lessons!
The brilliant results show that we have been securing first place in several
events, for example Numbers Day, which earned the house 500 points!
2014 will be a great year for Sovereign, there are plenty
more events to keep us on our toes, and after doing so well last year I think
we can really push ourselves to maintain a top spot in the championships.
In honour of New Year tradition and hipster Facebook posts,
we’ve decided to come up with some resolutions that we can aim towards :
1.Carry on earning lots of E-Ref Points
This year one of our New Year’s resolutions for sovereign is to concentrate on
E-Refs. E-Refs don't only help our house get more points but it also helps you
as an individual, and by getting more E-Refs it shows you're concentrating and
doing all that you can in class. Your Year Eleven Captains were told that by
getting 100 E-Refs by Christmas and 200 E-Refs by Easter we were 90% more
likely to achieve our target grades in our exams, so that's how important
receiving E-Refs are and what an impact they can make on the qualifications you
leave Wildern with, even if it is a long way off for some of you.
2.Contribute and Win Subject Events The
most recent subject event, for photography, saw some excellent contribution
from Sovereign house. We did place last, however Sovereign managed to stay in
the lead by winning points in other areas. So, this year, let’s try and place
first in at least one Subject event! We can do it!
3.Stay focussed as a House
A massive part of being in a team is staying focussed and
having a positive attitude. We did so well last term, and there is no reason
that we can’t be even better this term! Individually we all need to give 110%
to every challenge, event, and lesson, so that as a house we can sit at the top
of the league.
